What Attracts Angel Investment To Offer Business Funding

Angel investors are wealthy individuals wanting to make investments in new companies or start-up businesses. Angel investors typically make an investment in a new business in exchange for some form of ownership in the business. Attracting angel investment to a small business can be a highly lucrative and useful form of funding. But angel investmentis not easy to get hold of. Angel investors typically invest in a certain type of business, and for a set of defined reasons. What attracts an angel investor and how can a small business maximize its chances of reaching angel investment funding?

Firstly, angel investors make investments in businesses that have the potential for generating solid returns. Angels won’t invest in a high-risk, new small business simply to get their money back. Angel investors are looking for a solid return on their investment and better returns than they can get elsewhere in the investment market. If the small business is in a profitable field, and offers something with great potential to be profitable, the angel investor is interested.

Some angel investors invest in companies for altruistic reasons. These angels have already made their money and they are interested in investing in companies that build communities, that develop new environmentally friendly technologies or improve the standard of living for people around the world. Other angels invest for the thrill of investing in an exciting new company, and are looking for new and innovative ideas that will develop into the next big thing. Many angel investors want to take an active role in the company, as a mentor or guide, or as part of the Board of Directors. The start-up business should tailor their pitch to an angel based on what kind of investor they actually are and what will appeal to them.

Angel investment is attracted by a solid management team with great leaders. The angel investor will want to see the business being run by talented, knowledgeable and hard working people who have the business skills – although not necessarily the experience – to create a highly profitable company. The team needs to be complete and filled with people who look after marketing, accounting, people management and product development.

One important thing to remember is that angel investment is also attracted by a good solid business plan. The business plan must be trustworthy and complete. It should let the investor know that all the specifics have been taken care of and that the company is set up for the future.

Funded helps individuals and business owners start or develop a business through professional assistance and funding from angel investment, venture capital, private equity, grants and banks.
